This manual spring-assisted awning is ideal for campers who like to stay at one campsite for weeks or more at a time. It’s designed with unique features that can maximize your RV patio and make it a great space to hang out.More Awning, More Shade
First, the Destination’s canopy is extra-large, with a 9’8″ projection. This creates more space and more shade for you to enjoy. This is a definite plus for Class A motorhomes, fifth-wheel campers, toy haulers, and RVs with a slide-out under the awning. If you’ve got a large camper, you want a large awning to match.Maximize Patio Space
The awning arms can also detach from the side of your RV and stand up vertically to create a large, covered patio. With the arms out of your way and the canopy raised high above your head, you can free up the space and keep a clear path from your RV to your patio. You can even use the patio as a carport.Set up the included center ground support bar in the middle of the roller tube to add stability when using the awning in this position.
Easy Water Run-Off
If you’re going to be camped out for awhile, the included Awnbrella tension rods are a great way to support your awning and help it keep its integrity over time. These rods snap in place underneath the canopy and hold the fabric arched and taut. This prevents sagging, billowing in the wind, and damage from pooling rainwater. They will need to be removed before you can roll the awning back up.Manual Retractable Awning
The Solera Destination is a wiring-free manual retractable awning. To extend the awning, release the travel locks on each arm, loosen the rafter knobs, and use the pull rod to unlock the roller. Then hook the rod to the pull strap and walk it out until the awning is completely extended. Once it locks into place, tighten the rafter knobs and raise the arms to the desired angle. You won’t need to deal with wiring for the installation or use up battery power on your camping trip.Adjust Arms for Best Shade
The manual pitch adjustment built into these arms makes it easy to put the awning just where you want it to block out the sun. Simply lift the lever located near the base of each arm and raise or lower the arm to the right angle. Then press the lever back down to lock the arm into place. Fully extended, the arms will be parallel to the ground for maximum protection.Durable Vinyl Fabric
The durable fabric of this awning holds up to the rigors of the outdoors. It’s made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. This fabric also features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks and is cold-crack protected to -25 F.
This awning also has the Solera Shield built in to prolong the life of the fabric. When the awning is retracted, this durable, rustproof aluminum cover is all that will be exposed to the elements, serving as a layer of protection for the fabric.
Simple Installation
An awning rail is required to anchor the fabric of the awning to the RV, and your first step will need to be installing one (LC715216 – sold separately) if you don’t already have one on your RV. You will need a minimum of 2-1/2″ between the awning rail and the top of the entry door. You’ll also need 78″ of open space on the RV wall – from the awning rail straight down – so that the wall-mounted brackets for the awning arms can be installed. The roller tube, which comes with the awning fabric already mounted, attaches to the awning arms. The other side of the fabric slides into the awning rail on the RV. To complete installation, just use the included self-tapping screws to secure the arms to the wall-mounted brackets. Because this awning is rolled out manually, no wiring is required.
