This is because there isn’t an open flame, which prevents the heat loss you would experience with propane cooktops. Since your food cooks quicker, you’re able to get back to enjoying your adventure sooner. They are also safe, energy efficient, easy to clean, and because of their size, they’re also perfect for small RV kitchens. Power Sharing Dual Burners Image Descriptor This cooktop utilizes heat balancing, or power sharing, to maintain consistent temperatures and allow for more uniform cooking. The 2 burners share the power used by the cooktop to balance out how much heat goes to each burner to prevent overheating. This means that there are a total of 10 heat levels for the entire cooktop, and a single burner used by itself can be set to a maximum of level 10. But when using both burners, the combined heat level cannot exceed 10. If one burner is increased from level 5 to level 6, the second burner will decrease from level 5 to level 4, keeping an even maximum heat level of 10 across both burners. Safety Features Image Descriptor Safety features are built right into this cooktop to protect you and your family. These features include the hot surface indicator, child safety lock, and the auto shut-off function – all designed to maximize safety. The cooking surface of induction stoves don’t heat up, so there isn’t a way to know if the burner is on unless an induction-compatible pot is placed on top. Once this happens, the burners illuminate and get brighter or dimmer when you adjust the heat settings. This gives the impression of heat, even though you can’t feel it if you place your hand on the surface. The child safety lock prevents anyone from accidentally turning on the cooktop and burning themselves. When you press the up and down arrow buttons at the same time, the indicator light will come on and the cooktop will lock, allowing you to limit who uses the power button. Pressing the up and down arrow buttons again will unlock the cooktop and the indicator light will go off. The auto shut-off feature ensures that even if someone accidentally leaves the cooktop on, it will automatically shut down after 2 hours. The only exception is if you program the timer for longer than 2 hours for a warm pot of chili during those cooler seasons. Compatible Cookware and Accessories Induction cooktops are not compatible with all types of cookware. To work effectively, the cookware must have a magnetic bottom that can interact with induction coils in the burners. Magnetic pots and pans are the best option for induction cooking. If you are unsure if your cookware is magnetic, place a magnet on the bottom of the pot or pan, and if it sticks, that cookware will work with your induction cooktop. Incompatible cookware and accessories can potentially damage the cooktop, so it is best to check all pots and pans before using them for best results.
