Installation Instructions:
- Remove the jack cross shaft as instructed in the included Service Bulletin (F3310 for non-welded hex bushings or F3376 for a planetary two-speed jack).
- Temporarily replace the jack cross shaft with the powered drive/shaft, ensuring the powered drive is on the non-geared side of the jack with the motor down and within the profile of the jack.
- With the powered drive/shaft installed, position the torque stop tube on the jack’s outer tube wall.
- Mark the location of the torque stop tube on the outer tube and remove the powered drive/shaft. Weld the torque stop tube onto the marked location on the jack’s outer tube.
- Reinstall the powered drive/shaft, ensuring the energy-absorbing rubber bumper is placed into the torque stop tube during assembly to prevent motor rotation.
- Follow the appropriate Service Bulletin (in reverse order) to reassemble the jack, using the standard hole for normal installation (do not use hole #2).
- Attach the powered drive cover using the included ¼” x 1” bolts and ¼” rubber bonded washers, sandwiching the cover between the washers with the rubber side against the cover. Secure the bolts into the mounting flange holes, torquing them to 6 ft. lbs. Optionally, use a thread lock or retaining compound on the bolts. Apply the Bulldog decal to the outside of the cover.
Wiring Instructions:
- To ensure safety and prevent electrical system damage, disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Attach the terminal box to the trailer at a suitable location for connecting the powered drive leads to the terminal box studs (refer to Figure 5 for the wiring diagram).
- Connect the powered drive leads and wiring harness leads to the terminal box studs. For added protection, enclose the leads in non-split tubing or loom (included).
- Mount the switch box of the wiring harness at the desired location on the trailer (mounting hardware not included).
- Connect the battery leads to the terminal box studs and attach the terminal box cover.
- Reconnect the battery ground and test the operation.
Enjoy the powerful and efficient lifting capabilities of the Bulldog Powered Drive Kit for Single Speed Jacks.
